Day 29 - Farmington to Green River

I'm so scared of the dark

Today I went to Arches National Park, it was really nice. I went on a 3 mile hike to the Delicate Arch

It was an uphill hike which was really rewarding because I got to the arch just before sunset and it was beautiful. There were lots of people (by this trip's standards anyway - maybe 20) trying to get the best photos of the arch.

The advantage of hiking at sunset is that you get stunning colours and views. The MASSIVE disadvantage is that you're then stuck hiking back to your car in the dark. In case I've not made it clear I am really scared of the dark. 

My motel routine

I've realised I do the same thing every night:

1 - Arrive at motel reception

2 - Think really hard about whether I want to pay cash or credit - then always pay credit.

3 - Get told my room number. 

4 - Realise I've forgotten (again) to ask for an upstairs room 

5 - Get room number changed

6 - Get wifi code

7 - Laugh because (again) it's 12345abcde

8 - Drive the 100 yards to my room

9 - Go into my room, reeeeeally slowly

10 - Turn on all the lights

11 - Poke my head around every corner to check if there's a murderer lurking

12 - Wonder what I would do if there really was a murderer lurking and I had poked my head into his hiding place

13 - Turn on the TV

14 - Nod at the ice bucket and say "I know what you are now!"

15 - Go to dinner leaving lights and TV on (I know that it's ecologically irresponsible but a- I'm never gone for dinner that long and b- it makes me think that someone is less likely to break in)

This building in Farmington had swastikas on the top - I think  it was a record shop. Odd.

I briefly went into Colorado but I'm pretty sure I'm back in Utah

This huge rock was sticking out of the ground - can you see the  big caravan  at the base of it?

I'm going to miss the desert with its big red rocks
