Day 11 - San Francisco

It's the debate!!

I'm watching the Presidential debate. I don't really get it but it's pretty exciting. It's a bit like watching a sport you don't understand where the winner becomes the leader of the free world.

More walking

Today Elise and I walked to the top of Bernal Heights- a reeeally big hill, lots of steps. As in a lot of places in San Francisco there is a great view of the city:

For all you Twin Peaks fans out there (you know who you are) this is them - the one with the tower and the one on the left of it:

We then walked along the waterfront under the Bay Bridge:

A la japonaise

I've learned a new trick- being a passenger in a car and taking pictures out the window. This is apparently doing it "a la japonaise" Love it. These are some of things I snapped that way:

These are some of the murals in the Mission neighbourhood

This weird thing:

We went for lunch and the waiter told me I had a foot warmer. I had already put my feet on it so I was pretty happy. Then he mentioned that it was a dog. Oops.

Golden Gate Park

We went for a drive through the park and we saw the bison - I'm not really sure how they differ from buffalo but I'm sure they do.

Today I spoke to no strangers because I was hanging out with my lovely tour guide Elise (this is her idea of good walking attire) so maybe tomorrow I'll meet some on my way up the coast.

  1. Maybe buffalos are to bisons what a Black Hereford is to a Milking Shorthorn ... they differ only in the name unless you are an expert. Otherwise you can name them Margarita and Linda
